Taking a Trip

We were very blessed this past week by the generosity of some folks who allowed us to take over their beach vacation. So, last Saturday after a rainy soccer game we packed up and headed northeast to VA.

We spent our first day exploring and enjoying the indoor pool. Of course in the midst of our exploring the Princess was quick to point out EVERY place that served any kind of ice cream. I think she thought she was getting a taste of heaven because there was not one, but two DQ's within walking distance of our hotel.

On our second day we packed it in and went to Norfolk to visit the zoo. I'm so glad we picked that day because it turned out to be our only sunny day! But the kids loved the zoo, especially the train!


Little Man's legs put in some serious mileage at the zoo, but his stubborn self did not want to be carted around!


This is my personal favorite animal, but this guy was having a boring day so we didn't hang around long.








This is a red panda from Asia. It was climbing right over our heads and hanging out.
