Superman!

This year for Halloween we made the rounds of several  fall festivals and trunk or treats.  Little Man was pretty insistent that he wanted to be Superman for Halloween.  He actually kept getting confused and when someone who ask what he wanted for his birthday, he would answer with "Superman!"

Our first stop was over the weekend was actually at his school, but we forgot the camera for that one so you'll have to take my word for it.  Little Man's favorite from that day was the cupcake walk.  He was determined to win a cupcake and his sister was awesome and walked the circle over and over and over again until he finally landed on the right number.

There is a church about a mile down the road from us and for the first time since we've lived here they had a trunk or treat.  Little Man was happy to shoot some hoops and circle around for candy.

He and Uncle Matt are discussing the finer points of sweet-tarts!
Don't ask because I'm not really sure.  I think he was trying to get his Superman pose on, but he had one hand busy with candy.
As always we start our Halloween night with a trip to see Great-Gran.  This year we did things backwards and we took her candy for a treat.
Then we headed out with some friends from church to try the door to door trick or treating.  My kids have never done this since our neighborhood consists of more dogs than it does people so we had to borrow a neighborhood.  And since I hadn't trick or treated since elementary school I forgot that it might be scary, especially for someone who fights with his environment everyday.  Superman made it about 8 houses before we encountered a outdoor fire pit that was fired up (which I thought was really cool) and it went downhill after that when the bushes started shaking and making noises.  But, Little Man trooped on and I think all in all he had fun.

This was pretty typical.  We went with 5 other girls and at each house Little Man would hang in the back until one of the girls brought him a piece of candy for his bucket.
And if nobody was home he would hang out until we encouraged him to move on.  You can't tell from this picture, but he walked backwards from the door across the grass just to make sure nobody opened the door. The girls of course are long gone having run to the next house.
After the door to door we stopped at the Trunk or Treat that we have gone to every year since the princess was small, but only lasted about halfway through the trunks because we had two worn out, but happy kids.  Now it's time to turn the corner and look forward to Thanksgiving.  Vacation here we come!
