Swim Lessons

Last week we started swim lessons with Little Man.  He loves the water to a point. As long as he can keep his head out he's loving life, but as soon as water hits his face or head he struggles.  This is the boy who still struggles to have his hair washed during bath time.  He has done fairly well and is working hard to put his chin into the water.  His teacher is great with him.  She is a retired adapted PE teacher from the school system here so she is so used to kids who need things done just a little differently.

This was Day 1.  He went fairly reluctantly into the pool, but he didn't go running out so I was happy!

I think this face says it all.  He may not like what he is doing, but he is going to grit his teeth and find a way to do it.

This is the hardest part of the day...waiting.  His sister's lesson is first and it is longer so he has 90 minutes to be at the pool and wait for his turn.
So, he passes the time talking to Uncle Dave on his "phone."  Uncle Dave was here yesterday for a brief moment because he had to fly in and defend his dissertation.  We now have a Dr. Dave for an uncle.
I was trying to get him to smile, but this is what he gave me.
